Abstract:Algae have important strategic significance in optimizing food supply systems, promoting carbon sink fisheries development, and enhancing marine economic competitiveness due to their efficient biosynthetic capability, rich nutritional value, and ecological regulatory role. This article analyzes the current development status and main challenges faced by China"s algae industry from the perspective of the "all-encompassing approach to food expanded cultivation scale, product upgrading, and market expansion. However, there are still problems such as insufficient stress-resistant germplasm innovation, lacking of disease prevention and control system, low level of mechanization and intelligence in cultivation, short industrial chain, limited scientific research investment, lagging deep processing technology, and imperfect quality and safety supervision system. In order to develop and expand the algae industry, it is necessary to further strengthen policy support, speed up breakthrough on core and key technologies, promote industry chain coordination, green and low-carbon transformation, brand building and global markets layout.
